Urban security is a major concern for all cities and territories. Finding the right ways to improve it is a complex task that requires collaboration
Piraeus is one of the largest cities in Greece with significant trade and tourist activities, which is why the issue of urban security is one of the priorities of the municipal authority.
The Municipality of Piraeus responds to the challenge with the “BeSecure-FeelSecure” project, utilizing the European funding of the European Regional Development Fund through the UIA (Urban Innovative Actions).

Led by the Municipality of Piraeus, the consortium is comprised by two very important universities: Panteion University via the Laboratory of Urban Criminology and the University of Piraeus Research Center, two leading IT companies : Singular Logic SA and Space Hellas, the Ministry of Citizen Protection via the E.D.P.D and the international organisation: “European Forum for Urban Security (EFUS)”.
