About
European & Development Programmes Division (E.D.P.D.) of the Ministry of Citizen Protection, in accordance with the respective legislative framework, undertakes, among other tasks, the submission of proposals as well as the participation in specific – union actions, urgent measures of the Specific Fund Regulations and research co-financed or national projects. As part of the continuous effort to find financial tools, E.D.P.D. seeks and is informed by open sources of information, as well as comes in contact with private and public sector bodies, both in Greece and abroad, for the possible development of cooperation.
Role in the project
Taking into account the above, E.D.P.D. participates in the action entitled: “A Holistic Urban Security Governance Framework for Monitoring, Assessing and Forecasting the Efficiency, Sustainability and Resilience of Piraeus” and acronym “BeSecure – FeelSecure”. As part of this action, E.D.P.D. (along with Hellenic Police)” will contribute to the recording of legal and operational requirements for the creation of the Local Council for Crime Prevention (LCCP- WP4) and will monitor the pilot interventions that will be carried out in Piraeus by the consortium. In addition, the supply of special equipment is foreseen, such as vehicles and surveillance motorcycles for the Hellenic Police operational Agencies, in the context of surveillance and strengthening the capacity to respond to incidents that need immediate treatment, at local level, and specifically in the Municipality of Piraeus.
