The Laboratory of Urban Criminology of Panteion University organized and conducted a training session that was specially adapted for the staff of the Victim Information Unit of the Municipality of Piraeus.
The session, mainly, focused on the development of the Be Secure Feel Secure project so far, on the good practices at European level on which it has been based and also on the identified stakeholders -institutional and social – of Piraeus, with whom the Local Council for Crime Prevention has already started to collaborate.
Finally, the interdisciplinary team that will staff the Victim Information Unit – a Lawyer, a Psychologist, 2 Social Workers and 2 volunteers – was extensively informed about important parameters of the unit’s function, such as : the basic tasks and responsibilities of each expert, the importance of the protection of the beneficiaries’ personal data, as well as the need for consolidated cooperation with the unit’s stakeholders for mutual referrals and to provide holistic support to the beneficiaries.
